For me, Africa signifies the ‘Land of wildlife dreams’. Each time I embark on a journey to the varied wildlife destinations of the continent, I dream and try to visualise the kind of sightings and image making opportunities that I would love to encounter. With wildlife and the weather being as unpredictable as they are, most of them stay as dreams....

Beach thick-knee, also known as the Beach stone-curlew is a large, ground dwelling bird found in the islands of South-east Asia and Australia. Even though it is seen over a widespread area, the bird is considered as a near-threatened species and is quite uncommon across most of its range. It is very vulnerable to human interference, predation and loss of undisturbed coastlines. On my visit to Andaman in Feb last year, this bird was very high on the list to see and photograph....

Best of 2018 in pictures

As the year of 2018 comes to a close it is time reminisce, a customary look back at how the year was in terms of photography for me. The year began with the beautiful winged beauties of the Western Ghats on our bird photography workshop in Goa followed by the wonderful celestial event of Lunar Eclipse. This eclipse was the first I was able to sit through patiently, enjoy and capture in camera :-)...
